Hello all, I'm trying to get this late 60's Aquanaut running, and there is a broken gear that needs replacing. The gear is part of the pull start assembly, it is clear plastic and fits over the worm gear from the pull start. I've been looking around, seems this is a 2hp AH101E which may or may not have been used on Lawn Boy lawnmowers. If anyone could direct me to where one can get vintage outboard/engine parts or this part in particular would be much appreciated!

The PN you need is 121546, but it is no longer available. F R is correct, the parts breakdown I was looking at,it looked a lot like a lawnboy engine.

THanks for looking into it and for the part number. I went to a couple of mower repair shops, neither one was any help. One mentioned Tecumseh as a possibility, I'll explore it but not counting on it. Hope to find this little part, I'd love to get this unit working properly.

After a grueling search I've found the part, brand new. There is a company that supplies vintage ob and other boat parts and they actually had three of these things.
If anyone has an engine diagram for this AH-101E I could look at I'll buy you a beer, I think the part number for the catalog is 121926. I think there is a C-clip missing from the end of the worm gear that keeps the pinion from moving too far but I'm not sure.

You are correct on that, actually it is an E-ring. So, the lawn mower shop couldn't help huh? I guess I was born thirty years too soon. I've seen tons of those mowers back in those days. Still have one, but I've trashed the Lawn boy engine and replaced it with a Briggs.

You're right, the e-ring seemed to fit better so I wound up getting that. I think I've got everything put back together properly, there were some missing screws which I replaced but there's a bent peice of thick wire that fell from somewhere when I removed the fuel tank, etc, any idea where that goes? If it were bent out straight it would be about 5" long, but it's contorted with 90 degree bends and a rounded bend in the middle. I don't think it's absolutely necessary to run the motor, so I put some fuel in to fire her up to find a pinhole leak in the tank. Now for the JB!
