Evinrude Control Box Issue

I have a 1991 Sunbird Fish & Ski with a 115 Evinrude. The shift control handle seems to be getting loser by the day, while the ability to shift from neutral to forward or reverse is getting harder. Is this easily adjusted? I can't seem to find a control box like this anywhere online. The key is on the dash, this control box only has the shift function. The button at the bottom of the lever can be pushed in to get to fast idle to start the motor.

*EDIT - the shift lever also has trim up/down.

Cheers.

No, I've never heard that term before, but I'm on it now. Thanks.

That looks similar to my control. Shift the motor into full reverse and look for a Allen head set screw on the bottom of the control lever. There is a slot cut in the base of the control, which only allows access to the set screw in one position of the throttle arm, so you may need to look at the base of the throttle arm while moving it.

Loosen the set screw and push/wiggle the throttle arm back onto the shaft and tighten the set screw. The Allen wrench is American (versus metric).
