Evinrude Cylinder Unbalance

I have heard alot of conversation concerning compression checking and none seem to hit my problem. I have a '94 Evinrude 120hp. My compression is 132, 115, 114 and 115. I was told that the unbalance will eventually cause problems. I dont run the engine hard, 3/4 throttle max. Can someone explain the problems caused by unbalance psi? Should I look at starting a major rebuild? Thanks! rex

That will be OK, just run it. Won't hurt a thing.

The 132 seems a little high. Is there water in that cylinder?

132psi cylinder fires and burns fine but will warm up and check for water.

Pulled plug, no condensation on it, looks to be a clean fire

Re: Evinrude Cylinder Unbalance

You could try a high speed shutdown, follow by immediate comp test. The 132 may bee a false reading from oil from a rich cylinder at idle.
