Evinrude 'Ficht' - fixed?

The worst place for a '86 Yammy to self-destruct is in front of the marina in northern Ontario in late June. The dealer has a new 2000 Evinrude Ficht 90 hp, 2 yr warrantee and a decent discount.<br />I guess I don't have to add that he's seen me coming. The question is, has Bombi fixed the OMC problem? Or is this one I should walk away from. Help please! Bass opening is next week!<br />Nevrdun.

This just in! I've got the luxury of choice. There's a 2002 Johnson 90 hp available, more money of course. So give me guidance here, '02 Jon or '00 ficht?<br />Nevrdun.

nevrdun,<br /><br />My opinion. If Bombardier is standing behind the Ficht-go for it. I would want to se something in writing. The real issues with the Ficht were centerted around the late nineties 150. The V-4 was much less troublesome. <br /><br />I have complete confidence in Bomabrdier to not only build a great new product-the 2002. Also in their abilities to take care of the others.
