We have a 135 hp Evinrude with the Ficht fuel injection system that was manufactured around 2000. The fuel test port blew out of the line because of too much pressure. There was a minor explosion that cracked the fiberglass housing over the motor and a small fire. We were able to extinguish the fire and the dealer repaired the motor according to manufacturer instructions using a new part that eliminated the test port. The problem has reoccured but this time caused another part to fail because of the pressure we have had a second fire but a little less damage. I have heard that this is not an uncommon problem and would like to know if others are aware of similar occurences.
