I just got given me a Evinrude fisherman 6hp and want to know what the oil/petrol mix should be.<br />Also what is the proceedure for reliable starting and use of the mixture screw.<br />Thanks for any help.

Well, it a 1965 model or later.<br />Fuel/oil 50:1<br /><br />Mixture screw: <br />1 ½ turn out from fully (careful) closed. Then try 1/8 turn at the time to fine tune.<br /><br />To start:<br />Pump the bulb untill it's firm. Cold? Use the choke. If not, don't.<br />Pull the rope a couple of times.<br /><br />That works for me and my '65 Johnson 6 hp.
