i cant get my engien to adjust up or down.?! the little bar on the tilter thing dosent want to get off the seccond notch. sorrry for my bad vocab, i dont have a manual. its a 1955

I have a 69 SportWin 9.5, and the tilt adjuster is kinda funny. You dont pull the pin on it like you would every other outboard on the planet. You have to push it in on the hex head side and roll it forwards or backwards, and that adjusts the tilt on it. Hope this helps.

i got it to go horisontaly but there is no way to secue it like that, if i trailor it?!

Nitroboy,<br /><br />You have to push the trim pin in farther and let the tang on the end flop down to level with the pin to remove it. Your engine does not have a lock that holds it in the up position, only in the down position for reverse gear use.<br /><br />To hold it up, you have to adjust the tension on the tilt tube. I don't recommend that for trailering.

Hi NitroBoy<br /> For trailering these older models my favrite tilt lock is a stick and a bungee cord.
