Evinrude HP query

I have a 1956 Chris Craft Kit boat powered by a 1968 55Hp Chrysler which has within a .8c.u. difference in the bore and stroke of a early 1960's Evinrude 40 HP Lark 1,2,3. Since my boat is around 560 LBS. dry and would be close to 1200LBS fully loaded would this engine be a good choice to keep the period look or should I consider a 60 HP? The Chrysler needs to be replaced.

300 hp is what you need!!<br /><br />NAH 60 will be fine evinrude is a fine motor
