I am getting a 57 starcraft runabout that needs an engine, and I found a mid 50's Lark (30-35hp) for $200 and I was wondering how costly and hard it would be to convert it to use a standard tank?

A bypass cover with the fuel pump mounting holes is the first hurdle. 1957 35hp motors usually have it. 1956 30hp motors usually don't. After you clear that hurdle it is just a matter of buying the parts and hooking it up. Some drilling and tapping is required. They have the pump here at iboats. 18-7351 should work.
