Evinrude Motor Age

I just recently purchased an old boat and do not know what age the motor is. Can someone please help me figure out the age and what manual would be best for doing tune-up and or repairs for same. The motor says "Big Twin" , 40hp and has the serial # of 09512. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. John

Hi John find the modle number and most of the parts store will be able to tell you the year. They will not need the serial number for the year it was made.
