Howdy, Skidog.

I don't have a chart on 'Rudes, but I do know that the Johnson 60hp V4s were made in 1964, and the fuel mix recommended was 24:1.

Hope that helps. :)

Not a good idea, SkiDog.

Today's fuels are worse, not better than yesterday's fuels. Today's oils are much better, but your engine still has sleeve bearings and still needs a richer mix.

I am amazed that a dealer would tell you that!

Re: evinrude motor specs

Hi, SkiDog.

My book doesn't cover '66, but I suspect that 24:1 was still the mix recommended. I could be wrong. If I am wrong a 24:1 mix will do no harm, but if I am right a 50:1 mix might kill your engine.

Someone should come along who has the book on the '66.

Good luck. :)

OMC changed to 50:1 back in 1964. Your 60hp, no matter which year, does not have sleeve bearings, it is all roller and needle brgs. You can use 50:1 with no problem since that is what is was designed for.
