i find when i put the muffs on 140 hp evinrude,motor starts great ,and idles good, run motor in ocean ,hard to start ,and get it to idle,most of the time i got to put up fast idle lever to start it and lower it down and nail it on throttle to get it to go, new plugs ,compression is good,carbs clean.i pray that somebody can figure this out .thanks

Sounds like incorrect link 'n' synch, ringo. Do it by the book, with back pressure and load.

It means get an OEM Service Manual and follow the instructions for linkage and synchronization adjustments exactly, including making idle adjustments with the foot in water and in gear.
