Anyone know the age of a evinrude starflite 450 serial # 50515 01795. Also where is the water pump located on this vintage engine.
Thanks for any help. Glen

Looks like a 1958 Evinrude 50 hp. I am not familiar with that engine, but I'd have to assume its located on top of the lower unit enclosed in a housing around the drive shaft and covered by the exhaust tower like most outboards.

Yep, remove the plate on the side of the midsection, and remove the second plate inside that one. Inside, you will see the shift rod connector. Remove the bottom screw. Unbolt the gearcase from the midsection (from the 5" extension if it is a long shaft). The gearcase will then drop down and away. The pump will be looking at you where the drive shaft enters the lower unit.

Any collector interest in this motor, it runs good but it's a short shaft and does not work on my tri hull. Would love to trade it for a 70 horse evinrude that's a newer long shaft.
