I ran my trolling motor off the same battery as the outboard. when I went to start it the starter spun but the bendix did not kick in. However the bilge pump and livewell pump ran good off the same battery. Are these starters that sensative to a slight votage drop that this would happen??? I suspect they may be.( Yeah Yeah I know to many things on one battery)I plan on running two batterys from now on.

Hello.<br />Your problem might be solved with a little WD40 on the spring and shaft of the bendix.

Flathead to answer your question..yes if you run a trolling motor for a good amount you will draw the battery down.....plus the pumps also will draw..get your self a good Deep cycle battery for the trolling motor.....if your motor battery is a starting battery ..the troller will draw fast on it.....

also if u do oil the bendix splines..use a oil like 3-1 oil.....wd 40 gums in time...

Al,
It's been 7 years. I think Flathead solved his problem by now. ;)

byright, please start your own thread instead of dragging up an old one.
