What is causing it to leak gear oil out of the hole just above the caviation plate and front of motor? Thanks.

That hole is above the gearcase and if the oil is black and smells like gas then it is unburned two cycle oil and is normal.

I'll have to double check but I think it is clean gear oil. How much trouble is it to replace the seal where it splits in half? It is definitely leaking gear oil.

That hole is a drain hole for unburnt two-cycle oil/gas residue. That oil is not all burnt up by the engine and has to go somewhere. If you have gear oil leaking where the skeg attaches to the gearcase, you have to remove the lower unit and remove the bolts that hold the skeg on. Then replace the spaghetti seal and put some sealant on the whole seam before re-assembling.

Any water or milkey oil in the gearcase when you drain it ??

Please ignore the first photo, it is the hole in the bottom picture. Sorry. There is fresh gear oil coming out there. The Oring in the upper oil fill screw isn't working so i will have to go back to the flat plastic ones.
