Evinrude tilt and trim problem

I have a '78 model 115 hp Evinrude that I just got. It has sat for about three years. With a little work I now have it running great. however, When I use the tilt and trim it will raise but will not lower. After you raise the motor then try to lower it you can hear the motor or whatever supposed to lower it run but nothing happens. I would appreciate any help and advice.<br />Thank you,<br />Ron

Ahoy, Ron, and welcome to iboats Boating Forum.<br /><br />Your question really belongs in the Engines and Motors Forum. If we need to continue this discussion, let's move it over there.<br /><br />Your T&T system is low on oil. The filler probably looks just like the fill and drain ports on your lower end. That is, if you have the T&T version that is "under" the engine when she is up. Top it off, cycle her a few times, let her sit for about an hour and top her off again.
