In reading the manual for my 1980 evinrude v4 I cant see how this would work. There is a vaccuum tube between the intake manifold and the silencer. according to the manual which says " Some models have no metering orifice in either the manifold or the nipple. To determine if this is the cause of poor idling condition, pinch off the hose with a pair of pliers while the motor is idling, if idling improves then no metering orifice is installed. The manual goes on to instruct " Install a restrictor plug in the end of the hose and reattach the hose. ( part # 311126). I looked up the part and it doesn't look like a part tha
t could go inside a hose. It looks more like a drain plug for the gear case. Can anyone shed any light on this ?
