Hi, I have a 1986 V4 90hp Evinrude, Does any one knows, how many miles on a 12 gallons fuel tank I should be getting? I’m running a 17’ Sport-craft fisherman.<br />Thank you

Depending on your set up and load (how many friends) you should get about 20 to 30 smiles per gallon.<br /><br />The numbers have always been there but like torque numbers, they never published it. With the new DI motors they are starting to at least publish the MPG numbers. Trust us, you dont want to compare your motor to a new injected 2 stroke.<br /><br />Take what you have, set it up correctly and go enjoy yourself. <br /><br />Good luck!

Thanks Specks n Reds<br /><br />Is 12 gallons enough fuel to go 2 miles out on the ocean? I leave in fort Lauderdale and I was told that there is really a good dolphin fishing 2 miles out from the Fort Lauderdale Inlet, I always go out on the ocean and do some fishing on some buys that they have about 1/2 a mile south from the fort Lauderdale inlet but I never try the 2 miles out because I’m really concern about the fuel, I don't know if 12 gallons would be enough. <br />Thank you

Just get a few jerry cans, if you are concerned about fuel consumption.<br /><br />Remember you should have a little more than half a tank full of gas at your final destination, so you will have extra when comming back.<br /><br />Don't be stranded without gas. That's the coast-guard's no. 1 call(I think) "I'm outta gas"<br /><br />Good luck
