Hi,
I just bought a old harvey 16 foot boat with an aftermarket evinrude 55hp motor model number 55873r. It hasnt run in a while so I am wondering what all should be done maitenence wise to the carb, oil grease any anything else you can think of to get it ready to run. I know it also needs a complete wiring harness for the engine for all the plugs and various wires running throughout and was wondering if anyone can direct me in the direction of where to buy one. Lastly I am in major need of a service manual for this engine. If known please recommend a good place with decent prices on evinrude repair manuals. Thank you

Most of your questions can be answered in the "Top Secret File" at the top of page #1. As for a service manual, go to www.outboardbooks.com. The manuals are a little pricey but, you'll be glad you have one once you get into the motor a bit.
