evinrude year?

I aquired a older evinrude that has no tags or decals in a barter(trade)...he said it was a 7 or 9 hp?....the only # that I found was on the block of the motor on the powerhead...the # is 0358437...can anybody help me find the year...it is grey, the cover is white and grey....I cannot get it started for the life of me...wants to start and did for a moment but won't...thanks to all in advance....this site rocks

need model # look on freeze plug for number, also read the TOP SECRET FILE to of the forum.

as I do not have a manual yet....where is the frost plug ? ...thanks for your help.

different places on the block on different motors.

the # that I posted was the 1 I believe was on the frost plug....it is a silver circle on the block which is the only thing that resembles a frost plug...so the # 0358437 is that #.....thanks again...
