evirude 40 horse lark VIII

[Quartermaster]

I was given an older boat with an Evinrude Lark VIII 40 horse. I was wondering how dependable are the motors and is it worth restoring the motor, to keep the boat the way it was new?

I have one and I love it! Even if it's not on the best boat for fishing it's pretty fast! I get 30 MPH out of mine.

Good tune-up for this year!

They shift in gear very smoothly, engine has a great sound at low and higher speeds. They are also light (160 lbs) compare to newer 40's HP.
