HI ALL my engine has too much oil from exhaust, blue while running after shut down black oil drips from prop, skeg, midsection, and cowling what causes this? I'm mixing 50/1 using omc TCW3 oil motor runs very good despite the oil problem. I decarbed last month with seafoam. only other problem is after running it rpm doesnt always return to idle only drops to 1000/1200 rpm. ive narrowed it down to control box

Not to insult your intelligence.. but this isn't an oil injected engine is it? If so mixing the fuel only makes it have massive overoiling. Also I'd make sure your ignition system is healthy... check for a good spark, replace the plugs etc.. often times incomplete burning from a weak ignition system will result in remaining unburned (since oil is the harder part to ignite when mixed with gasoline) Any specifics on the engine year and HP would be helpful just in giving you advice on giving the ignition system a health inspection.

When is the last time you did a plug change... do the plugs look oily as well or are they dry and brownish after running it around for a bit?

do a compression test. I think that will make everyone feel better knowing what your compression is. Hate to have you have go through a bunch of fuel things if it turns out you had a bad cylinder. How does the motor run? Good hole shot? Good power?

Re: excessive oil from exhaust

you say you have oil in the cowling and dripping down the midsection this could also be a blowen base gasket.

Re: excessive oil from exhaust

here is the other pics of midsection sorry had to crop the heck out of them to fit. if I have a blown gasket base that still doesnt explain all the oil or is that much normal and you just never see it otherwise?100_1656.jpg

Re: excessive oil from exhaust pic's added

ive had luck with most sierra products
and have used ther carb lits before ,but this one
i had probs with and it was not due to error checked them three times
but theres always that chance ,
the brps solved it .had needle and seat that wouldnt seal
causeing flooding on top carb
and bowl gasket that wouldnt seal proper
the sierra gaskets are not as forgiving
as the brp redloine also makes good kits
but you are right most times ite mech fault /not properly cleaned
or in correct float adjustment mine was fixed jet .carb removal of jets and
and welchs is a must
