Excessive side to side play on alpha one

Twin alpha drives.Stbd side has more side to side play than port.I assume needs to be addressed in off season? What is worn/loose??

What has more side play, steering arm. upper pivot pin, gimbal ring and steering pin?

the drive itself has side to side movement .I know some play is acceptable however since it has more play than the port drive i assume stbd is excessive.Happened to notice while scrubbing crap off the props.Will have to take a closer look from inside engine compartment while someone moves the drive for me

Might be the upper steering pin. Those upper bolts need to be re-torqued ever now and then. Once they wear the ring, its rebuild time

should i be able to see from inside transom? or is it in the top of outside transom assembly?

Look under the top of the gimbal ring at the bottom of the steering pin. Rock it and see if there is any movement between the pin and ring

It would be more noticeable from the inside, but there should be no movement
