HI, 1987 Mercruiser 5.7l, Alpha 1. IN the process of replacing the engine, decided it was also a good time to renew all the belows and shift cable. So easy to get to without a small block in the way. I saw two types of exhaust bellows advertised. One says that it clamps at both ends and is quieter because all of the exhaust if forced through the prop. The other only clamps on one side. Is there a preference for one or the other?
Thanks Roman

Either will work just fine, the tube doesn't requier the special tool to install.

I just did the same thing, same engine, same year! Consider doing the gimble bearing, sender & limit switches too!! Like you said, easier with the engine out.

The engine being in or out has absolutely nothing to do with changing the bellows. The bellows are all outside the boat, the engine is inside.
