exhaust boot

ok, i spent a couplte of hours trying to help my brother out today replacing his exhauist boot. he heard there was a way to do it without taking off the out drive. is there? we sure tried everything i could think of, and no luck.<br />thanks guys<br /><br />oh, its a 19 1/2' wellcraft eclipse<br /><br />mercruiser something, not really sure exactly.<br /><br />thanks again

You could go to the newer style sleeve, instead of the bellows............<br />Other than that, changing the bellows With the drive Off is a Pain............<br />I can't imagine doing it with the drive On......

http://www.theshadconnection.com/cgi-bin/page.cgi?page=559 <br /><br />the tube connects to the engine side only. be sure all the old adhesive is off of the connections. i had my drive off and connected one end of the bellows to the mount and let it sit overnight to take the shape of the connector. since i used a bellows, i reglued. check all the bellows for cracking--turn the outdrive left, look on the right side and vice versa. raise drive and look underneath at bellows.
