Hi, recently put all new bellows in 1986 3.0 mercruiser alpha 1. Was out in the water and water is bubbling out bout 2" below the exhaust bellow. The bellow itself isn't even under the water so I know it's not leaking there. But it's straight below the bellow 2". Did I forgot something or is something else worn out?

Then what??? Are they replaceable? Or just tighten? Or is it like a seal? Thanks

They are holes cast into transom housing so at idle the exhaust doesn’t have to push out 2 ft of water to propeller hub. No adjustment or replacement is needed it’s completely normal

Oh ok. But engine sounds loud like a Harley and smells like severe gas fumes.

If the exhaust bellows aren’t in water then the boat isn’t in the water …gas fumes are another issue

On the trailer my old boat with a 3.0 was louder than my current boat with a 5.0 the water is the muffler…
