Hi all

I've just bought HGE exhaust manifold kit for the above. The kit came with gaskets, bolts, small brass drain plugs, pipe plugs for manifolds and elbows and silly plastic drain pipes with blue drain screw.

However they didn't come with the Inlet hose connectors (45 degree) to connect the hoses from the thermostat housing. I asked the supplier who told me I had to use the old ones which seem to be stuck in.

I've Googled and Ebay'd them for a few hours and nobody seems to sell them, either that or I'm not giving the right name for the search.

Can you guys help please?

Ayuh,.... A well placed blow with a BFHammer will usually shatter the old manifolds, 'n then you can reuse the old fittings...

Or,...
Go to yer local hardware store to find replacements made of brass...
I believe they're 1" pipe x 1" barb, 45? elbows...

BF Hammer, at a guess, something to do with Big F Hammer?????

Tried a 15lb sledge hammer, bent it around a lot, but didn't get to the bit. Tried looking online bit not much good.

You know, living in the UK, I wondering, is it wise to buy soemthing built in the US??? Not because it's not built well and generally s lot of the parts are readily available, it's just that when something like this happens, there is no easy fix.

I would have thought that the manufacturer would supply this part readily????

Try Sierra 18-4461 3/4 x 1 NPT straight fitting.

Thanks Bt Doctor, that was helpful.

Also for reference I looked on the HGE website, who are in fact manifoldwarehouse.com and in a link they have to their HGW website, I found this.....a page of bits which included a 45 degree 3/4 NPT 1" hose fitting.....

http://www.hgemarine.com/product_misc.html

Why on Earth they don't include it or at least supply it to their distributors goodness knows???

So I have another question for you guys. When you replace manifolds, do you re-use these parts or buy new? You see I don't understand why they include a new drain tube but neglect to put in an inlet tube. Is it because there are more elbows supplied which don't use this item?
