The real question is do you need it?
In my own inexpert opinion no.
When you come off plane and to a stop you should let the motor run in neutral for 2-4 minutes anyway. Always.
When you start the motor even warm 2-3 minutes run the boat in neutral, at least 1 minute. I know a minutes a long time, when your looking to move to another fishing spot, or the kids are water skiing and wake boarding.
When running water can't enter the riser.
