Hi All.

Whilst the MC-1 was in the bucket the other day I noticed the bubbles of exhaust gas coming from a 1 inch crack
on the top of the OD casing just behind the rear edge of the prop.

Is this a problem of major proportions or can it be left ?

Any help useful here. She is overheating again and I think its the impeller as the water in the bucket dropped exposing 2 holes from the pickup and I saw now water from the transom plate. Pain....

Also I think i need to adjust the shift cable and when putting her back in neutral the prop still drives the boat forward until I blip her into reverse and then neutral.

Many thanks

How about some pics of the area? And running in a bucket isn't a good idea,it needs a fair ammount of water, and should be deep enough to go up beyond the cacatation plate. Use muff's they are cheap, and work well.

Crack 2.jpg

Image should now be attached.

Thanks, the bucket was massive but had a leak and I missed it. Must have sucked air in as there was no water coming from the outlets so its got to be an impeller.

The crack on the other hand....

Ayuh,.... I'd run the lower unit til it pukes,... It ain't gettin' Fixed, it needs Replacin', it's been frozen, with water in it,...

Get a set of Muffs, 'n quit usin' a bucket,...
