I pulled the boat out of the water the other day and noticed there was a build up of grime on the rear of the boat where the water level would be at
if you leave it in the water. yer gonna get a build up of grime (slime) if it's sooty. then you might think that yer over rich as suggested. keep in mind. that to the best of my knowledge. any 4 stroke engine will burn some small amount of oil. possibly leaving exhust smoke at the waterline.
i assume ya got a fuelie. my last boat, my existing boat, my buddy's boat 190hp v6 carbed, and another buddys boat, 220hp v6 fuelie. all leave a slight exhust smoke line on the transom. my existing boat was worse of all of them. i rebuilt the carb. it got rid of most of the smoke line, but not all of it... i'm just not sure that a slight build up is anything to worry about... granted, your's is very new...
