Exhaust Manifold correct installation water hoses?

Hi, I reemplace my old engine 454 V genaration 330Hp and put a TRS 400, but in my old V generation are not hoses water to the risers, but i see in many engines have the water hoses go to the risers, my question is for my new engine TRS 400 what is the correct installation of the water hoses, please see 2 different pictures with the two choices. The plumbing depends entirely on which thermostat housing you have.

So, post a picture of what you have now.

Please see two new pictures, one from the new engine 400 TRS with the thermostat location, and second with the new thermostat I instaled for salt water 142.

I'm not familiar with that thermostat housing, so I really can't give you any suggestions on how to install it.
