Re: Exhaust Manifolds

OK, you can plumb Mercruiser manifolds to work. Just gotta change the water routing. Yamaha includes the manifold in the loop controled by the thermostat. Mercruiser does not. So Yamaha sends the water out of the engine, into the bottom of the manifold, out the bottom of the riser and back into the thermostat housing. After the thermostat opens, water is then diverted out the top hose on the riser. You can change the thermostat housing to the mercruiser style and cut the manifolds out of the regulated loop.
Or you can use a block off plate between the riser and manifold. Install a 90 degree elbow in the fitting coming out the top of the manifold ahead of the riser. Then plumb it like the yamaha.

Im looking at doing this also. Will this Exhaust Kit work (http://www.dougrussell.com/Products/index.cfm?fuseaction=ProductDetails&ProductID=150&Category=7&Brand=129)

Also what Housing should i use?

Thanks

Re: Exhaust Manifolds

Thank you lo-d, thank you lo-d, thank you lo-d, i don't have this drive and setup!

I only got a POS omc stringer to deal with.

A different kinda cancer out-drive.

It's like banging your head against the wall. It feels so good when you stop.
