I am wondering if someone can tell me where the exhaust comes out. I was running my Rude 150 on muffs last night and the exhaust smoke looked like it comes out of the center of prop. I also had a lot of smoke looked like a bug fogger. Could that be from to much oil in fuel. I try and mix it 50/50.
Thanks
Scott

Re: Exhaust

Yes, it should come out of the prop. Sometimes depending on how long the motor sat without running, it may smoke more if it sat a long time. I take it this isnt a VRO motor?

50:50???? Do you mean 50:1? You must, as I don't think the motor would even run on a 50:50 mix.

And yes, even 50:1, it'll smoke a bit. Some oil brands smoke less than others, with synthetics generally smoking the least...

Re: Exhaust

Two strokes tend to smoke a lot when they are cold, which happens when you just start the engine up and it is running on cold tapwater. It probably will smoke less once the engine warms up to normal operating temps, around 145-155 degrees at the powerhead. These crossflows tend to run rich at idle rpm's anyway (somewhat more smoke that when at higher rpms.) You will see the differences in the spark plug color if you shut the engine off at various rpm's.
