Went through that wake like it was flat. Smoother ride than I thought it would be. Does it have rod holders!

Ooof Dah! Nice ride but it must have a live well and a locator that operates at that speed or I'm not interested.

That was good Smedley...

Do boats like that ever lose it and flip or roll?

I bet he used more fuel on that short run than I use a whole season.

That is definetely goes on the list of things I must do once in my life.

Good stuff.

Re: Experience 155 MPH on water

I've been to 100 mph. It was scary because the 22' boat would only go 80 or so and then wanted to chine walk. We could only 'hammer' the throttle for a few seconds then slow back down to 85 :)
100 mph is dangerously fast in a boat like this.

22' Wellcraft Scarab w/640" bbc (1000 hp)
Man....I wants one of those racing Merc 300. Did you guys notice that the yellow and purple boat steering wheel is on the wrong side?

Wrong side? You mean it was on the bottom???

Most boats with left side steering come from the left coast. It seems to have come from the old inboard boats that ran left hand props. They just never changed for some reason.

Yeah that left coast thing was also due to the popularity of jet drives on the Colorado River. They almost all have throttle pedals and there is more room in the center for a right foot throttle and jets don't have prop torque . . .

magster65, I'd feel real secure in that boat at 100MPH...Try a 100 in this one on your knees if you want Dangerous...
Re: Experience 155 MPH on water

:)
I know a fella' that has a 36' Fountain with a pair of 1000 hp big blocks. It can cruise at 100 and it's smooth and stable and has a secure feeling about it. That little 22' Scarab with all that power wants to chine walk... it's not a good feeling. If you don't 'work' the wheel or slow down the boat will hook and spin out... or possibly roll. Tunnel hulls don't do that but they can go right over backwards if you trim it up too much at speed. Not fun either!! 100 on your knees... people are cool! :)

Cool thread EZ.

Nice video Smedley. Took a ride in a friends Allison, 3 people on board and it still ran 96 mph. :)
