Re: Exstream Foreclousers

I have often wondered while watching the show, if they could meet the new taxes and utilitys, I guess in some cases I was right.

Re: Exstream Foreclousers

people get something for nothing, this is exactly why they got in the position in the first place. they had a paid off very nice home. they could have sold it, bought a more reasonable home free & clear, and still had money. they want there cake and eat it too.

i personally think that the show is overboard. they should build a nice 3 bedroom 2, bath. 1500 sq feet. the ones living in the slum houses would still be thrilled. a lot of these people can afford the light bill, and property taxes.

I have allways thought to myself WHY do they build homes that are so costly to live in WHEN the owners have limited finances

It almost appears self inflicted. It was paid off 3 1/2 years ago and they defaulted on a 450K motgage from 15 months ago.

Possibly the Extreme Makeover people should offer financial guaidance and management to the "winners".......

A money person on Wall Street one stated that if ALL the money in the USA was distributed evenly that in 5 years or less it would be back in the original hands. I am beginning to believe that statement.

for what they have spent on that show, they could have solved the homeless problem and several cities.

Re: Exstream Foreclousers

I always wondered how people who couldn't maintain the meager home they had could maintain a much bigger and more expensive home. In this case it looks like they leveraged the only thing of value that they had and lost it.

Poor financial decsions. I would bet they have no retiremement savings as they would raid that too.

Man, to get a paid off mortgage and 100K to boot is almost giving someone financial security. And it would take too much to keep it that way.

It reminds me of that guy that won the lottery, carried a buch of cash around with him, and eventually lost the whole thing.. Stupid is as stupid does..

But it made for a funny ending to "Wild Hogs".

Other than that, I can't watch those shows. Even Holmes on Homes up here in Canada is getting too extreme in the fixes.

Re: Exstream Foreclousers

I dont know all the details but , how in the name of JEHOVA could anyone in bad shape money wise just 4 years ago be able to qualify for a large second morgage? What about credit history? Did the bank not check up on them BEFORE it gave out the money. What did they need the money for? Guess thats another story. The morons didnt get what they needed 4 years ago. Other than a "freebie" card they needed some intense lessons in finance and they should have learned from past mistakes. That sucks so now they have return to the real world that I live in.Some people are determined to be poor and homeless no matter what anyone trys to teach them or give them.Unless you are rich or win the lotto the most inportant thing anyone has other than his health is GOOD CREDIT..Many young people who think they have a future dont know how bad their future is going to be when they mess up their credit. sorry for the rant.

I agreed. If you think about it, most rich peoples who do stay rich, are excellent at managing their assets.

Re: Exstream Foreclousers

Something I have heard oftentimes, "People who are rich are rich because they keep doing the things that make them rich. Ditto for people who are poor"

A radio talk show host I listen to occasionally marks that all you have to do is look at people who win the lottery. You hear stories about how after a few years some of these folks end up not happy, or in deep financial trouble. This radio personality puts forth the opinion (and I happen to agree) that some of this can be attributed to those coming into lottery-type winnings are not prepared to be wealthy. This is in contrast to someone who has earned their wealth, who is prepared to be wealthy by dint of the fact that they have done things to attain that wealth. Wealth doesn't happen by accident (for the most part).
