Extend Trailer Brake Quick Disconnect

My trailer came with a removable tongue and a quick disconnect for the brakes. I have to pull the tongue out for the garage door to close.

If the flexible brake line was about 6 inches longer I could remove the tongue without disconnecting the brake line which would be easier and probably safer. With an additional 18 inches I could just lay the tongue on the trailer frame.

Would there be any problem with using one 18 inch section of the quick disconnect kit pictured in the link to extend my already quick disconnect?

I'm about 99% sure that this is the same kit that is on my trailer.

If your trailer already has one, and adding simply a longer one shouldn't be a problem assuming the one you've listed (which is what they're designed for) would be the same size, rating, etc.

Thanks Nelson that is what I wanted to hear. I didn't see where there would be a problem but I have not been around this type of stuff enough to make an informed decision.

Thanks Again

No problem.

One question. You didn't mention your trailer manufacturer? Do you know if they offer an extender for the exact purposes? Worth checking with them so you know the fittings would be the same (although I'd suspect the one you've listed would be interchangeable.)

It is a Bear trailer under a G3 deep V boat. I emailed them and they said that they didn't have any extensions available.

I don't want it to sound like I'm running them down. The trailer is very nice and really well built and it was good of G3 to put more than enough trailer under their boat.

G3 is highly regarded around here.

I wasn't implying you didn't like your trailer or it wasn't a good quality. I was simply wondering if they had the quick disconnect extensions. Since they don't, I still agree the one from Champion should do the trick.

As stated as well, G3 is a respected brand.....

NelsonQ I didn't take it that way. I just thought that if I was going to mention a brand name that I should also mention that I was not dissatisfied so when someone stumbles across this thread 6 months from now they won't take it wrong.

I really appreciate you responding and helping me out.

Thanks Again
