Extended storage implication...is two years too long on one "winterisation?

I have an 8HP E/rude 1990 that was winterised fully last fall....fogged, l/u oil changed, carbs drained etc.
I have not needed to use it this year for a few reasons.

Question: is extended (i.e. a second year of) non-use a problem? Can I just let it sit until next year or is it better to start it up, give it a good run, and then re-mothball it?

There has been cases where some one has restarted engines after sitting for 10 to 15 years. I beleave if it was mine I would at least pull the plugs and put some oil in the cylinders and rotate flywheel by hand to cover cylinder walls with oil.

I agree with Daviet, maybe a squirt of fogging oil in the cylinders just to make sure they are coated. Other than that you should be fine.
