I'm buying a new boat and the dealer wants to sell me an extended warrenty, from Brunswick product protection corp. Has any one had experiance with this company or any extended warrenty issues?
Thanks. I love this forum. :D

The dealer wants you to purchase it as he makes money on the sale.

I did have a extended warrenty (added free as a special deal) but not from the Brunswick company.
Had to use the extended warrenty twice, was expecting problems but it went very smooth, no BS and work was done as quoted. I can't say a bad word about the experience

Re: extended warrenty?

I bought my new boat last year and although the dealer makes money off of selling you the extended warranty, I think its good to have since my boat has an inboard/outboard motor. I've heard some horror stories about i/o's and as long as you maintain it and keep copies of the service receipts, you should be in good shape for the term. Make sure the extended warranty takes effect after the one year manufacturers warranty and get it in writing. Some dealers include the first year in the extended warranty.

I am a boat dealer and yes we do make some extra money on the extended warranty sale. Most of us sale this extended warranty from aftermarket compaines like FPC, Cornerstone and a few others. Brunswick corp however is Mercury Marine's parent company and you absolutely can not go wrong with them. FPC is another company that is well worth the money.
