I have a two battery system with a perko switch. Q, when I am carging battery #1 or #2 am I correct in leaving the switch in the off position. This is a 12v trickle charger that I use to keep the batteries charged when I can't use the boat for an extended period of time. Thanks for any help.

Yes, leave the switch off. By incorporating 2 diodes, you can wire in the charger permanenty, and have both batteries charged at the same time, while still remaining isolated. If you require help on this, just ask.....<br />

schematic,<br /> Thanks for the reply. I had always done it that way but a friend told me to put the switch on which ever battery i was charging. This did not make sense to me. Thanks for settling the debate.
