F@&! Weather!!

So I finally get my restore project done in time for a week's vacation from work last week. Planned to be on the lake ALL week. After a MONTH of sunshine, it decides to RAIN and STORM for all but 2 days (I got 3 on the lake, but one day was terrible).

Back to work this week... Sunny and beautiful highs mid to upper 70's. The only day I can get out is Saturday...

Forecast: 70% Chance of Showers and Storms.

Aaarrrrgh!

Yep, that sounds typical. It will be sunny all day, until I get off work. Then it starts storming. The weekends are pretty much soaked down here right now. I really don't mind, I still take the boat out because the Florida thunderstorms last very briefly. It will be sunny here and still raining, WTF!?!

All true.. I guess it's a good excuse to drag the bimini that came with the boat out of my garage and see what kind of condition its in.

Rain is one thing, t-storms are another. Is it safe at all to be in the middle of an open body of water with electricity in the sky?

Yeah, Florida is great! In comes the bad weather, the boaters race to get out of the water. The storm hits, it rains (you're already in water), it clears and the seas and i/c become absolutely flat, gorgeous and uncongested.

I miss Florida...

I was out working on my boat yesterday , over where it's stored. The sky gets Blacker an blacker , so I click on the VHF 's weather channel an hear "SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WITH ROTATION DETECTED BY DOPLER RADAR ".....Got home Quick ! Guess I'll wait to continue . peter

My wife and I have had off since last Friday, and have off till Monday and the weather has been spectacular, and the waters calm on the upper bay. We've had the boat out every day except Tuesday.

We head north about 5 hours on Saturday to the cottage for the annual family vacation. Weather is great here right now so the chances of it being great next week diminish !!!!

Same thing happened to me this spring. I spent all winter restoring my boat and after I got her ready it seemed like it rained every chance I could get out. Very frustrating, but I've got to enjoy boating quite a bit since then.

I went through a spell this spring being disappointed often because of the rain, I think that's why we've been given the phenomenal weather this week, it all works out.
