f115 one discolored plug

Hi guys, one more hopefully small problem with my 01 f115. I had the repairs for the making oil problem done this spring and only have about 5 hours on the engine since. I winterized it this week and noticed the #1 plug is pretty black, the other 3 are all fine, a nice tan color. I bought this boat and motor used and don't know if the 100 hour service was performed. I'm going to take it in this spring and have everything done anyways. Do you think this could be just a valve out of adjustment or something simple that the 100 hour maintenance will fix, or is there something else I should be looking at. I really don't think the motor even has 100 hours on it but it is 4 years old now and could use a good going over anyways. Sounds like it's getting too much fuel on that cylinder. That could very well cause too much oil since some of that extra gas will end up in the oil. Methinks you have an injector problem on #1.

have that injector tested and look at the throttle body area for obstructions. at 4 years old and less than 100 hours if you look in the 05 tech guide you will see all the maint you have to catch up on. your dealer will have a copy and its under efi 4stroke maint.

Thanks for the help guys. I talked with my dealer today and he said when I bring it in for the 100 hour service he will check the injector for me. I'll take a look at the throttle body myself and make sure there are no obstructions. Rodbolt, can a guy buy a copy of that tech manual? I have a seloc or clymer (don't remember offhand) but it doesn't go into all that.<br /> Thanks, Scott

the marine tech guide is a yearly publication not a service manual, yes they are for sale but I dont recall the part number and I am in venezuela right now. you will need the service manual to repair and maintain the motor. the tech guide just has tech bulletins,updates and running model change information.
