Hi guys, when I pulled my boat out this year the f115 wouldn't pump water. It worked fine when I winterized it. I ended up frying the pump while messing with it and just now got it back together. I bought the kit and replaced everything. I took rodbolts advice and flushed the motor at the flushing attachment with the lower unit off and it looked good. water coming out the pick up tube underneath and out the pee hole. Put it back together tonight and still nothing, what gives? I only let it run for 5-10 seconds cause I'm afraid to trash another water pump, but I thought that should be plenty of time to get water pumping through. I would appreciate any advice since my dealer tells me 3 weeks to look at it cause he's backed up.
Thanks, Scott

Re: f115 won't pump water

You do use muffs on the water intakes on lower unit while running the outboard on land? And plenty of water pressure in the waterhouse that attach to the muffs?

The flushing attachment on the outboard, just at the side of the cowl, can only be used while the outboard is not running, as written in the Owner's Manual page 4-28 (or US Manual page 46 or about). The flushing attachement is only for cleaning the cooling water passages while the outboard is shut off.

When You changed the impeller, was the old impeller in one piece? No blades that was missing?

Yeah, I was using the muffs. Today I put it in the lake and was doing some trolling with my kicker. Before I left I fired up the 115 and It was pumping fine. I'm hoping it's ok now but if anyone knows anything else to look at I'd be grateful. I'd hate to get stranded somewhere because of my stupidity and not checking something else if there is a problem
Thanks, Scott
