Hello,
I'm doing some wintertime pondering.
I have a 2008 21 foot bowrider with a 320 HP Volvo DP with F6 props.
I've looked at the prop volvo prop charts but can't quite seem to figure out how much RPM I should lose and approx speed I "might" gain by switching to F7 props (I find volvo's prop naming system very confusing compared to the much simpler Merc system).
Of course I can't test the boat now up here in glacier land, but I think I've been hitting the limiter with the F6 propset (of course will test more before confirming I need to switch). The boat is definately running at or around 5200rpms with 50+ gallons of fuel and 4 adults 2 small kids aboard and related junk. When I press the throttle down full the boat seems to slow and pull back and it goes again. The motor doesn't stutter heavily though, boat just slows a little. I'm thinking I'm at max rpm and with F7 props should stop the limiter problem.
Thoughts?
