Hi gents,

It has been a while since I have been on. I have taken this unit off my boat, who can re-build the seals /valves on this power trim. It will not hold the engine in place and sinks down. Have bled the system a few times and can't get it to stop sinking.

Thanks

Kid

Re: F90 Power Trim Re-build

My unit(F90) was leaking at the piston and I removed it and took it to a hydraullic repair shop along w my factory service manual.they fixed it for about $100 and Im pleased.I called to ask them if they worked on marine tilt/trims and they said bring it down here and we'll fix it.you may need a Yamaha mech.to fix yours as you have other problems, but it wont hurt to ask a hydraullic repair shop if they can fix it.If you have a factory manual it shows all the parts and specs. on the tollerances.I believe a hydraullic shop may be cheaper than a marine repair shop.but Im no expert!you will have to fill/bleed the unit when you reinstall it.there are about 25 O rings inside,It may just be one or more of them thats causing the problems.

Re: F90 Power Trim Re-build

it will most likely be your check valve. Most systems keep the "up" check valve accessible and it can often be replaced while the system is still on boat. So look for a check valve that faces away from boat transom and can be replaced while unit is on boat.

Naturally, you will want to have the engine properly braced. When you mess with pump the system will fall. If the engine falls on your head or hand then it does serious damage.

Could be the manual valve mounted portside. Not seated or bad o ring.
