I need some thoughts from others. I have an '88 Palm Beach and the carpet is shot. I am replacing it with regular marine carpet but I have a 4 ft deck in front that I was thinking of maybe putting that fake grass/turf on? Would that look bad? What are your thoughts?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I wouldn't have it on my boat... but you might really like it. It's all a matter of personal preference.

Re: Fake grass for carpet

I had fake grass in my broom speedboat back in the late 80's
it not only looked good but worked good as well. and was a great talking point when people saw it.
Mine was the type with about 2 inch long blades of nylong green grass, the type that is used on fruit stalls to make the veg look good
I found it very hard wearing, nice on the bare feet as well.
Very easy to hoover if i had been to the beach and let the water go off intothe bilge to be pumped out easy.

it looks a lot better than you might think, my interior was black and white and the green grass looked good with the ivory hull and green top of the boat.
i even saw this stuff for sale in marine shops in green and blue and a light brown.
the brown realy did look nasty to be honest but the green or the blue looked cool.

sorry i have no internal pics of it, but this was my Broom scorpio back then with a 1973 65hp merc triple on the back.
