Hello Everyone, I am new to this forum and very excited to be in a place where there is a whole Starcraft community. I picked this beauty up last week for the paltry sum of $1000.00. I have wanted this boat or one like it since my Dad had one in 1978. I think His was a Holiday. This boat is in excellent condition and has all of the original interior including the seats and floor covering. There haven't been ANY holes drilled in it anywhere I can see. Except for the motor, it is exactly as it was when it rolled off the showroom. It is in such good shape that I am just going to enjoy it this year and not try to restore anything yet. The ss# is 65 24220 so I am assuming it is a 1965 The only thing I have to do is pick out a name.

This site will not let me upload pics. Every time I try it says " upload failed " can someone tell me how to correct this? I want to show off my new girl.

Re: Farm fresh Nassau!!

The other thing you have to do is post of pics. The sooner the better of the Mob grabs the torches and pitchforks.

My 66 Nassau SN begins 66, so I'm pretty sure you have a 65. What motor is hanging off the back?

Pending pics, welcome to the Starmada. In any case, welcome to iboats. :welcome:

Welcome aboard fellow Michigander! Sometimes this site does dislike uploading pics, do you have a photo bucket account or similar? If not, PM me your email and I can try uploading them for you.

Thank You Chieftain for posting these photos. Thank you everyone for the welcome. After looking at these photos again I can see that she has a little wear and tear, but not much for her age. We are pretty much the same age and we both still look good. I will be looking through these forums first before asking too many questions, but I do have one. All the boats I have dealt with before have been open row boats with 15" transoms . Am I going to have any trouble finding a larger motor to fit the 21" transom on this boat? I am NOT taking a saw to this classic!

Long shaft engines are common, particularly the larger hp ones. But they are around in pretty much all HP

The Nassaus are rated up to 75 HP, 25 is kinda low. I have 50 on the back and always wish for more, but mine runs great so a new motor is low priority. I would say go ahead and run it while you search for a new motor. It still gets you back on the water. :D

Pretty nice looking rig. Let me take a guess since you are not to awful far from me. You will be on Lk St Clair and Erie, and possibly a few runs up to Saginaw Bay after some eyes maybe??? The 25 should do you fine for the season if you are looking to upgrade later. It's not always about speed.

I don't like driving south. Planning on doing most of my fishing out of Harbor Beach and Grindstone city and Port Sanilac. That and assorted inland lakes. Got a new girlfriend also and am looking forward to teaching her how to drive the boat while I run lines for trolling. She didn't like being out 2 miles in my 1962 14ft sears tiller! Having a steering wheel and room to move around a little is going to be great.

Ah yes. Don't blame ya for not wanting to go south :) My mainstay port is Pt Sanilac and usually am there just about every weekend. Gonna be quite the delay getting out this season though due to the ice. The snow and freezing cold again today doesn't help. I recognize your site name maybe from either GLA or Saginaw Bay Forums??? Let me know when you hit up Sanilac.

Great boat! I'm partial to Nassau's too. Out of curiosity, What is you seat height and distance from the dash with those original seats. I never quite figured out if I placed mine right or not.

I don't know. I have it wrapped up pretty tight to protect the interior right now. Judging from the photos the leading edge of the driver's seat is about even with the remote control box. BTW, Where can I find a convertable top for my Nassau like you have?

I'll have to check in when you unwrap her to get those measurements. Still snow on the ground here. Been waiting, and hoping for nicer weather to unwrap my project.

Convertible Tops.....I found mine on craigslist. I just picked up another full enclosure(top, sides and back, no bow cover, sorry guys) for a 16' SS in very nice shape (off CL), will be looking to see if I can make the whole thing fit, not sure the rear (back portion) will be long enough though. We'll see. If not, I'll resell it.
