Fastest Starcraft Redo. 1974 16' Super Sport done before the 4th of July

My girlfriend and I wanted to have a nice running boat by the the 4th so we decided we were going to find a boat that would be easy to redo and be perfect for upnorth fishing and water skiing. I found a 74' Super Sport 16' with a 60HP Chrysler for $399 at a local charity auction. We just brought her home last night and stripped it. The floor was rotten everywhere and so is the transom. I have a good running 85HP Johnson that I am going to put on the boat after I redo the transom. I will post pictures later today of our progress. WE ONLY HAVE 3 DAYS LEFT!

Now that's gonna be impressive! Just remember don't skimp a job for a deadline... wanna stay safe! Im curious to see if this can be done... i would think u would run into issues with the curing of the transom and such in that limited time .. unless ur using seaboard or a pourable transom. Sounds like you've got plenty of time. Heck, you should be able to make your own cushions and everything in this amount of time.

You could easily get an aluminum Starcraft put back into shape in a weekend as long as you were basically just painting the wood. Good luck and post some pics when you can.

He may get the boat done in 3 consecutive days,depending on how bad it is when he started. But he will be awful tired when he is done...

Good luck, thats alot of man hours in three days.

A small daily post would be nice, no photo's neccessary, you can photo up when the 4th is over.

Things arent looking too great I working on the new floor for about an hour today and then I had to deal with family stuff. Tomorrow i'll be up early to get started. Tomorrow it gets new paint, dash panels, transom, and maybe a motor.

What paint? Will it cure in 3 days? Hope you are snapping pics during this..Dont slow down to post them, wait till after the 4th!

I've always used rustoleum on aluminum boats. I use a fine 4inch foam roller and it looks like its was sprayed when its done. If you get any scratches down the road you just sand the bad spot down and repaint, It dries over night and it will seal any leaky rivits too if they're not too bad. Luckly this boat didnt have any when I tested it.

UPDATE: We have a nice looking solid boat! The paint is drying and looks great and the floor and transom are in. Todays tasks include gluing down the carpet this morning and trimming it. This afternoon i'm going to hang the new motor on the boat and do all new wiring. Then tonight i'm going to install the new seats.

I feel like ive been running a marathon with redoing this thing and doing family things for the holiday weekend.

I've been taking many pictures of the progress so I post them one this thing is done.
