Fastwin not developing full speed

1968 Fastwin 18802 18hp, I have rebuilt the carb and set the carb but now it does not seem to run as fast as it did before I rebuilt carb. I put on a whole new top end on carb. Is there something I missed?

Have you set the linkage to insure the throttle plate is fully open?

Thanks for reply. Found the problem to be a set screw on remote control. It was letting the cable wire slip. It's great when it's a simple and cheap fix.
