Re: Favorite boating drink - bulk/batch

This one is a secret . . . shhhhhhhhhh!!!! If you like MaiTais, well this isn't one :p The absolute best, and magical mixer, is Kern's Nectar, Pineapple Orange Passion Fruit. Not as common as some of the other Kern's, but available in many Grocery Stores. We mix it with Meyer's Dark Rum for the guys, we call it a Muller and it is for Mullin' stuff over around Miller time. That's the original. However . . . It is amazing with almost any spirit. With Light Rum I call it a Chick Muller and may be the best for what you describe. With Vodka it tastes a little Grapefruity, but still amazing. I URGE you all to find a couple of cans and give it a try. The Muller is my original, and you have to treat it with respect, or I WILL hunt you down and . . . well I'll do something. The others you can do what you want, they are more garden variety, but still, the simplest and best tasting phoofey drink you can find . . . :D

Absolutely has to be the exact Kern's I describe, Pineapple Orange Passion Fruit. I call it POP to help me remember ;)

QC...Who told ya bout my secret??!!??
Maybe it's a California thing..Since thats my old home state!
You got it down too with the DARK rum.I call em Dark Bahama Momma's!
Been using the Kerns stuff for awhile, bananna orange with Absolute or Rum = yum!

And..also gotta chime in on the Blue Moon's n Orange..good stuff..
Coronas NFL style on hot days too...(No Freekin Lime)
Evening by the dock, outside..Well thats Makers Mark, 3 cubes of ice and a splash of 7 up...and a good maduro cigar;)

Re: Favorite boating drink - bulk/batch

If you are looking for something in bulk, may I suggest "Hunch Punch?" Take a 5 gallon water cooler, mix a pack of the Tang powder (suitable for 2 gallons), mix some cans of fruit cocktail in, the more the better. Now, add Pineapple rum, coconut rum, banana rum and Bacardi rum in the fruit. Mix it all, let it sit in cooler with ice overnight.

The fruit absorbs the alcohol, and man, it tastes great. You can harmlessly slip the children a piece of fruit every now and then to "calm them down." Well, maybe not. My mama always said a little rum never hurt a child. Heck, when I was teething, she put a bottle nipple on a bottle of rum for me. I turned out fine, constant double vision and lack of coordination, but other than that fine.

Everclear Punch...:p
Use the 190 proof stuff and a ton of your favorite fruit punch..
The ratio is like boat gas 50:1 punch to alkyhaul
Be careful, it will sneak up on ya and kick your butt... wooooohoooo....!
The up side is if you run out of gas, ........
Be careful with open flames tho........

#1. VTO or GTO, depending on the audiences preference. Vodka, Tonic with a splash of orange juice. Of course GTO is Gin instead of Vodka. Use plenty of ice. I personally prefer gin, but most of my group likes the vodka.

#2. Good 'ole Hurricanes. But, take it easy with these, they are 50% rum, and have a wicked hangover, especially is you are dehydrating all day in the sun.

#3. A bottle of MD20-20, preferably grape, left in the freezer overnight; think grown-up grape slushy. Takes the edge off when you do a 20mph face plant on the wakeboard.

As far as beer goes, Budweiser Select actually has flavor, but is light enough to drink on a hot day. Those of you drinking blue moon on a hot day are way better than me. Blue moon (or any good wheat beer) is our Spring/Fall beer around here.

My personal drink of choice is a Lynchburge Lemonaide. They are light enough to drink on a sweltering day, plus its just adult lemonade!

1 shot whiskey(I actually prefer to use a mid shelf like Black Velvet over jack)

1 shot Triple Sec.

1 shot sweet and sour mix

6-8 ounces sierra mist (one can)

Slice of lemon optional

Add some ice and stir to perfection.

They taste just like lemonade, but can sneak up on you. I highly reccomend them.

bulk: infuse vodka - lime, lemon, celery, parsley, carrots, onion, 2-3 different hot peppers, kitchen sink - let stand before straining 24 hrs, no longer than a week

plus good tomato juice

Since I started this, I will add a couple that we like
1) 2 parts cranberry juice, 1 part grapefruit juice, 1 part dark rum - good on ice or if you freeze it, it's like a slushy
2) 2 part juice (1 part lemonade, 1 part cranberry) 1 part vodka - over ice or freeze

I bring Coronas on the boat, but if we have a special occasion, the punch is the best. Nothing beats an ice cold Corona on the beach. Heck, every one of their commercials is set on the beach, that's convincing enough for me. Maybe that's why my boating trips are so expensive. But I WILL NOT drink Natty Light or Bud Light, they only give me a headache.

Here's one that hasn't been mentioned:

Bloody Bulls

Mix up a bloody mary like usual, drop in a beef bullion cube per 2 drinks and it's a tasty extra flavor.

Re: Favorite boating drink - bulk/batch

OK heres my best "batch drink" bee careful with this one, each cup is like a beer and 2 shots......

PINK PANTY PULL-downs.
1 fifth (750ml) vodka(or less...)
4-5 frozen pink lemonade concentraits
still above up in pitcher or punch bowl....add 4#s of ice....then lightly stir in
12-15 12oz cans of beer(budlight, mgd, etc.....no milwaulkees "beast")

Not really my drink of choice, but tastes great, and the ladies will drink it too.... as the name implies

also avoid cheap vodka....made a batch with burnetts and beast once.....next day SUCKED!)
