Hey guys, as you know I’ve been working on an FD-11.
I know the gas mixture is 24:1. My question is I have some 50:1 for my 76 Evinrude. Could I use the 50:1 just to see if it’s going to start. Really didn’t want to mix a whole gallon of gas if it won’t run. Thx

No reason to do that.

You have to go to the trouble of putting it in a barrel, right? (If it fires you can easily destroy an impeller by running it dry.)

So put a half gallon of the 50:1 in your pressure tank. Add a little less than 1 1/2 oz. 2-cycle to the mix, and have at it.

I was going to say 50:1 wouldn't hurt it but, it does use a Friction Bearing on the Crankshaft between the Cylinders, so 24: 1 it is

Stick with 24:1, that way if the Engine blows up, you can't be Blame Me, for saying to run 50:1
